Dr. Jennifer Barton
Doctor Barton attended the University of Missouri - Columbia to obtain her degree in Veterinary Medicine. She worked at emergency clinics in both St. Louis and Cape Girardeau before opening Heartland Veterinary Center in Farmington, MO.
When not busy at the clinic, you can find her gardening, sewing, hiking and spending time with her two daughters, Natalia and Josephine.
Justine H., Office Manager/Veterinary Assistant
Once she figured out that animals are what she enjoys being around, she decided to take the step and start her journey as a Veterinary Assistant. Justine started out working in a clinic in Joplin, MO before moving to Farmington and joining the Heartland Family in 2017. When it comes to these amazing animals, She ends up taking in every animal that pulls on her heart strings, which is now how 8 furry friends now call her house their home. She has an especially soft spot for beagles.
Besides being at work you can normally find her and her husband outside, whether; that is hiking, riding their Side x Side or soaking up the sunshine on their boat.
Mandy F., Veterinary Technician
Ever since she was young, Mandy knew she wanted to work with animals. She earned her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology at the Veterinary Institute College. When she graduated, she joined our family in 2018. she is also the current president of the Potosi FFA alumni. Mandy has many fur babies to call her own, including a turtle, along with several different types of fish.
Aside from being in this wonderful career, She involves herself with science, writing, and of course her fur babies.
Abby s., Veterinary Technician
Abby joined the Heartland Family in 2016 after graduating from Jefferson Community College with her Veterinary Technician degree.
Destinee G., Veterinary Technician
Destinee has been working at Heartland for a few months now and she absolutely loves it! Ever since she was a young child her passion has been to help and handle animals. She has a biology associates degree and is currently working on her associates of Veterinary Technology at JeffCo. She then plans on becoming a licensed veterinary technician. She has 3 fur babies of her own, 2 dogs and a kitty.
Most of her free time is taken up by school, but when It isn't, she is usually outdoors with her loving boyfriend and fur babies.
Stephanie H., Veterinary Assistant
Stephanie has always had a deep love for animals. She never thought that she would have the privilege to work in the this field but with some sudden changes in her life, she was able to receive an offer to work here at Heartland Veterinary Center. She have been here since 2021 and absolutely loves it! Being able to come to work everyday and work with animals is one of the best rewards you can have. She is currently saving up so she can go to school and become a licensed veterinary technician.
When she is not at work, She likes to spend time with her family, go hiking with her dog Rhea, or relax at home with her two cats, Eris and Hera.
Mattie P., Veterinary Assistant
Mattie recently joined our family, but for as long as she can remember she has always wanted to work with animals. She has always had a furry companion by her side and now she has two of her own. Ladie, a basset hound, and Honey who is a husky mix. Being able to work with animals all day everyday is such a joy. She is currently getting ready to go back to school to get her associates degree at JeffCo.
In her spare time she enjoys being around her friends and family and spending time outdoors.
